I’m not sure how I found A Diamond for a Duke. Maybe it was in an email. But regardless, I was in the mood for a historical romance. This one is loosely based on Charles Perrault’s “Les Fees”, a French fairytale. This is not a fairytale that I’m familiar with so I didn’t have any expectations going into the reading.

We first meet Jules, the Duke of Dandridge. He has no desire to continue the dukedom and often eschews attending Ton events. However, for his godmother’s birthday party, he does make the effort to attend. Jules first appears trying to disappear from the party. He hides from his nemesis, Phryne Milbourne by ducking into an unoccupied room.

In the room that Jules ducks into, he discovers an old childhood friend, Miss Jemmah Dament. Jemmah is often overlooked by her overbearing mother and flighty sister. Her mother decidedly favors her older sister in everything.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

Recommendation?
This one is on Kindle Unlimited. I’m not sure I would pay for the book, but it is a cute short historical romance. It’s only 208 pages so it is a rather quick read.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. I am still working on the books I read in November! Only one more from then.
