Romance Variations

A Hopeful Holiday by Heather Moll

I obviously continued right on with my Pride and Prejudice variations binge with A Hopeful Holiday. This one is available on Kindle Unlimited. It is a novella (only 116 pages) and subsequently a quick read.

This variation picks up after Darcy arranges Wickham’s marriage to Lydia. Darcy encourages Bingley to return to Jane. However, Darcy does not return to see Elizabeth. Consequently, he has no idea of her change of heart toward him.

When the Fitzwilliam family draws lots to see who will attend Lady Catherine for Christmas, Darcy and Colonel Fitzwilliam draw the short lots. Of course, both bluster that they had just been there for Easter. Unbeknownst to Darcy, Elizabeth Bennet is returning to Kent to visit Charlotte Collins, now that Charlotte has delivered a son. After all, Elizabeth is missing Jane.
