Amazon had a triple points day with their Kindle Rewards Points beta and well, let’s just say I bought this whole dang series. After Mistral’s Kiss, I had to continue reading the series with A Lick of Frost.
King Taranis accuses three of Merry’s men of raping a Seelie Court lady: Galen, Rhys, and Abe. The book starts off with Merry meeting with U.S. attorneys about the charges.
Taranis also meets with them through a mirror. Merry didn’t realize that Taranis could perform magic through the mirror. Fortunately, Merry learned that if her men were touching her, Taranis’s magic could not affect her.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In A Lick of Frost, Merry learns more about the Seelie court and King Taranis’s magic. Taranis continues to try to get Merry to come to him. But what we’ve been waiting for comes to pass finally in this one.
This book encompasses about two or three days. So it is a slow-moving story in terms of time, but yet again, so much happens. A note of warning: this one needs a trigger warning. Merry is captured. While it doesn’t occur on the page, the reader is aware of what happens while she’s unconscious.
