I thought it was time for another cozy mystery. A Story to Kill was a Kindle deal on Amazon so I bought it. I like Lynn Cahoon’s writing style so I thought I would like this one.

Cat Latimer is an English professor and an author. She married her college sweetheart (one of the professors). But after finding him in flagrante delicto with a co-ed, she divorces him and leaves her home state of Colorado.

BUT when Cat’s ex-husband dies, he leaves her their house. She decides to turn the old Victorian house into a writer’s retreat. Cat convinces her best friend to join her in the business as her best friend is an excellent cook.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In A Story to Kill, Cat’s first writer’s retreat is off to an amazing start, thanks to the best-selling author Tom Cook, joining the retreat. He’s an alumni of the university, much like Cat. But someone doesn’t want Tom working on his next book and murders him.
Oh, did I mention that Cat’s high school boyfriend is back from the military and is working on her house? Can you figure out who did it before Cat does? Read the book and see.
Recommendation?
If you are a fan of cozy mysteries, then you should read this one. It’s very well written. This was the first book in the series. This one is available on Kindle Unlimited.

I’m writing a blog post for every book I read. Yes, I read a lot. But I enjoy reading and want to help you find books to read that you would enjoy.
