Abandoned in Death by J. D. Robb

Abandoned in Death is the 54th book in the In Death series. It was published in 2022 so I’m almost caught up! The structure was different in this one as it bounced between Before and Now multiple times.

A quote from Abandoned in Death by JD Robb

At the beginning, we see the Before. A mother who was down on her luck struggled to figure out what to do. She decided to kill herself and then decided that she should take her young son with her. But after she gives him a pill to make him sleep, she abandons him. Then she drives herself into a body of water.

In the Now, the killer places a body on a bench in a playground near Mavis, Leonardo, Peabody, and McNab’s new place. On the body was a handwritten sign in crayon- Bad Mommy. Eve and crew must find who placed her there.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Abandoned in Death, Eve discovers that more women are missing. It becomes a race against time to find them before their body shows up. Will Eve and crew win the race?

Recommendation?

Abandoned In Death is NOT available on Kindle Unlimited (I wish!). This story is #54 of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. Many characters from the past show up, like Louise, Charles, Jamie, and Quilla. I figured out who the killer was at the same time Eve did.
