Romance Variations

An Endeavour to be Worthy by L. L. Diamond

I found An Endeavour to be Worthy through an Amazon email if I remember correctly. The blurb enticed me to borrow it through Kindle Unlimited.

Elizabeth Bennet is a Bennet in the sense that her father is Mr. Bennet, but her mother is not the Mrs. Bennet of canon. Instead, Jane and Elizabeth are the daughters of Lady Sophie, who was the daughter of the Earl of Richmond. Thus, Jane and Elizabeth are the granddaughters of an earl, just like Georgiana and Anne.

Fitzwilliam Darcy discovers the connection between Elizabeth and the Earl of Richmond at an art exhibition at Lady Vranes’s home. It seems that Darcy is a close friend with Nicholas Montford, Viscount Hatton, who is Elizabeth and Jane’s cousin.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In An Endeavour to be Worthy, Elizabeth’s grandfather takes Elizabeth and Jane to live with him and their grandmother. After the debacle with Mr. Collins, the earl refuses to let Elizabeth be abused like that anymore. This leads to Elizabeth and Darcy spending more time together.

This is on Kindle Unlimited. Even though Darcy does see that Elizabeth has greater connections than he originally thought and is worthy of being Mrs. Darcy, he still must redeem himself in her eyes. This story does get a little spicy, so don’t expect it to be your normal clean romance.
