Betrayal in Death by J.D. Robb

I’ve been slowly rereading the In Death series, intermingled with other books. Betrayal in Death follows Judgment in Death. This one took me a while to realize what the betrayal was in the title.

After learning about the series the first time back in 2001, I promptly read them all. At least, I read all of those books that had been released. But somewhere along the line, I stopped reading the current ones so I have needed to go back and read the series again. That’s why I’m re-reading these.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas is a New York City homicide detective in 2059. Betrayal in Death has a mystery within a mystery. Roarke hosts an auction for one of Hollywood’s leading ladies as she’s auctioning off her memorabilia to create a foundation for the arts. But then one of the maids in the hotel was killed.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Betrayal in Death, Eve must not only figure out who is killing people that surround Roarke (making her think he’s a potential victim), but also how it impacts the other areas of their lives. Is there more to the deaths than it seems? Read it and find out with Eve!

This story is #12 of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. It takes place after Judgment in Death. This one brings in lots of new characters.

My plan for 2022 is to write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book, one about a mystery book, and one about a romance book (with some posts about series thrown in). This one is a mystery so if you’re a mystery lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
