Cozy Mystery

Chili Cauldron Curse by Lynn Cahoon

I had read the first book of this series back in July. However, Chili Cauldron Curse is the prequel novella so I needed to read it to see if it was a necessary read for the series.

To begin with, Mia Malone comes to visit her grandmother in her quirky Idaho hometown since her grandmother asked her to come visit. Mia is a kitchen witch, which means she spends lots of time in the kitchen.

When Mia goes to help her grandmother get the food bank up and running once more, she trips over a body. But it’s not just any body. It’s the body of Dorian Alexander, who is a warlock and the head of the local coven. What’s more is that Gran has been dating Dorian. Now her grandmother is the prime suspect.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Chili Cauldron Curse, Mia has to figure out who is the real killer of Dorian to save her grandmother. Did someone kill Dorian to stop the food bank from reopening? Read the book and see.

Recommendation?

If you are a fan of cozy mysteries, then you should read this one. It’s very well written. This is a prequel to the first full length book in the series. This one is available on Kindle Unlimited.

My plan for 2021 was to write a blog post for each book I read. This is the twenty-ninth book of December. Just eleven more- getting closer to the end…
