Romance Variations

Comfort and Joy by Anngela Schroeder

I continued right on with my Pride and Prejudice variations binge with Comfort and Joy. This one is available on Kindle Unlimited. It is a novella and quite a quick read.

This variation starts after the Bingleys and Darcy have left Netherfield. Instead of the Gardiners traveling during the summer, they travel slightly before Christmas to visit one of Mrs. Gardiner’s relatives in the Lambton area. The Gardiner boys stay with the Bennets while the girls and a friend travel with the Gardiners, along with Jane and Elizabeth.

At the opening of the story, Elizabeth, her two cousins- one who is much like Jane and one who is much like Elizabeth herself, and their friend Katie Joy are on a walk and decide to walk a little further. But then they are caught in a snowstorm. Elizabeth’s older cousin injures her ankle so that Elizabeth must carry her. Luckily, they find a cabin with a stables out back.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Comfort and Joy, Mr Darcy rides for Pemberley only to be caught in the storm, just like Elizabeth and the girls. In fact Mr Darcy goes to take refuge in his cabin, only to find Elizabeth and the girls in the stables. What happens next? Read to find out.

Recommendation?

Comfort and Joy is a quick light read. It’s perfect for the holidays. I really enjoyed this one and this is on Kindle Unlimited.

My plan for 2021 was to write a blog post for each book I read. This is the twenty-seventh book of December. Just thirteen more- getting closer…
