I have this idea for a subscription box. I’m working out the details, but it would include a cozy mystery and be built around it. So I’m reading lots of cozy mysteries. I looked on Kindle Unlimited for a Halloween cozy mystery. Cottage on Gooseberry Bay: Halloween Moon came up. I was reading to see if it would work for my box that I’m hoping to launch in September and ship in October.
Ainsley Holloway recently lost her father. Going through his things after his passing, she never finds her adoption papers. She dreams often of a house. After a trip to Maine, Ainsley discovers that the house may be on Gooseberry Bay.
Ainsley arrives in Gooseberry Bay to find answers about her past. She didn’t really remember much from before her father had rescued her when she was four.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Cottage on Gooseberry Bay: Halloween Moon, Ainsley arrives in town only to find the inn is full. Fortunately, the proprietor is willing to rent a cottage on Gooseberry Bay to her, especially since she has a dog. One of the first people that Ainsley meets in town is killed. Who did it? Why did they do it? Read the book.
Recommendation?
While this is a very good cozy mystery, it still wasn’t quite what I was looking for. But this one is available on Kindle Unlimited. I definitely recommend checking it out. I’ll definitely be reading further in the series.
