Cozy Mystery

Death Overdue by Allison Brook

I have this idea for a subscription box. I’m working out the details, but it would include a cozy mystery and be built around it. So I’m reading lots of cozy mysteries. Next up in my search was Death Overdue. I was reading to see if it would work for my box that I’m hoping to launch in September and ship in October.

Carrie Singleton considers leaving Clover Ridge, Connecticut. While she loves spending time with her aunt and uncle, it’s just time that she moves on. That is until she gets a job offer that she can’t refuse.

The head librarian offers Carrie the position of head of programs and events at the library. Little does Carrie realize at the time that the library is haunted. It’s her first event that is a real killer and yes, I mean that literally.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Death Overdue, Carrie arranges for a retired homicide detective to come speak at the library. It seems he has evidence of who killed Laura Foster. a part-time library aide who had been murdered fifteen years earlier. But it is during his talk that he keels over and dies. Carrie feels responsible and takes it upon herself to find out who killed the detective. Will she find out or will she be the next victim? Read the book and find out.

Recommendation?

This one is not available on Kindle Unlimited. I still definitely recommend checking it out. I will be reading the rest of this series for sure.
