Disrupting the Duke by Alexa Aston

After finishing With My Whole Heart Forever, I went back to the Dukes Done Wrong series. Next up was Disrupting the Duke. I needed to read more!

At the age of ten, five boys are banished from their homes, sent to live at Turner Academy. All five are the younger sons of dukes.

Disrupting the Duke is the story of Donovan Martin. When Donovan was ten, he went for a walk with his mother. While they were walking, her foot got caught in a poacher’s trap. His father refused to let the surgeon amputate her leg. Thus, she died. Donovan’s father sent him off to school as punishment for causing him to lose his wife. Like Miles and Wyatt, Donovan joined the Army after completing school. Yet, several years later, when his father and older brother die in a drowning accident, Donovan inherits the dukedom.

This book gives a little more background on the boys while they are at Turner Academy. Donovan is helped by Finch to face bullies. It gives the backgrounds of the Turner brothers.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In the book Disrupting the Duke, Donovan meets the next door neighbor to the duke’s country home, Lady Wynter Day. After she sprains her ankle (and no, not the euphemism that it typically implies in regency books), Wynter ends up staying with Donovan for Christmas. Wynter has no desire to marry or does she? Read and find out!

Recommendation?

This one is on Kindle Unlimited. All of these are so good. Miles and Emery as well as Wyatt and Meadow are present in this one. I highly recommend these if you are a fan of historical romances.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. I finally made it to the books I read in November!
