I’ve been slowly rereading the In Death series, intermingled with other books. Divided in Death follows Remember When. This story hits close to home as the main suspect (and the one who found the bodies) is the daughter of Roarke’s admin assistant, Caro.

After learning about the series the first time back in 2001, I promptly read them all. At least, I read all of those books that had been released. But somewhere along the line, I stopped reading the current ones so I have needed to go back and read the series again. That’s why I’m re-reading these.

Reva Ewing, former Secret Service agent, now works for Roarke and is the daughter of Caro, Roarke’s personal admin assistant. She receives a package of pictures of her husband and one of her friends in bed together. Understandably, Reva gets pissed and heads over to her friend’s place to confront them. However, when she arrives, they are in bed together, but both are dead.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Divided in Death, Reva calls her mom, who calls Roarke. This puts Eve in a bind as she arrives at the crime scene without being sent there by Dispatch. Did Reva actually kill her husband and friend or is she being framed? If she is, who is framing her?
Recommendation?
This story is #18 of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. It takes place right after Remember When. There are great lines in this one.

My plan for 2022 is to write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book, one about a mystery book, and one about a romance book (with some posts about series thrown in). This one is a mystery so if you’re a mystery lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
