Empowered by the Earl by Alexa Aston

Time to return to the series The Second Sons of London. I love historical romances so I decided that it was time to revisit the series. Next up is Empowered by the Earl. We got a hint of who the male main character would be when Everett and Spencer discovered that Owen’s brother died at the end of Debating with the Duke.

Major Owen Hasbury is the younger son of the Earl of Danbury. His older brother Lawford was with Everett’s older brother when Ev’s brother was killed. Lawford had a head injury that he never woke from, resulting in Owen leaving the battlefield to take care of the estate.

Miss Louisa Goulding is the cousin of Lady Tessa and Lady Adalyn from the earlier two books. She is a year younger than her cousins, but she spent most of her time as a hostess for her father who works in the War Office. In Adalyn’s book, we see that Louisa was looking for a husband.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In the book Empowered by the Earl, Owen and Louisa meet at Ev and Adalyn’s home. Although Owen declares to Everett that he isn’t looking for a wife, when he helps Louisa become more comfortable, he starts to fall for her. But will she return his affection? Read and find out!

This one is on Kindle Unlimited. I can’t wait to read the ones added to the series since I read them last year. If you’re a fan of the friends-to-lovers trope, then you’re going to want to read this one! I highly recommend these if you are a fan of historical romances.
