Festive in Death is the 39th book in the In Death series. This was definitely one I had never read before, although I had bought it back in 2021.
Okay, so I’m slowly finishing this series, even though yes, she is still writing books. BUT I’m determined to catch up! Only about 20 or so to read.
With this one, Sima along with her friend and boss, go to make her ex pay after he kicked Sima out of their apartment, even though she was the one who had paid the rent. They planned to cut his socks and start unraveling them from the toe. But when they got there, they found the ex in bed and dead. The friend and boss is Trina, the hairstylist who takes care of Eve so she called Eve at 2 a.m. to report the body.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Festive in Death, Eve must figure out who killed Trey Ziegler, the personal trainer. Suspects galore come out of the woodwork as Eve and Peabody investigate. It turns out that Ziegler was a douchebag, but Eve must still do the job. This happens all while Eve and crew are preparing for Christmas and Roarke and Eve’s party. Will someone else die before Eve can figure out what happened?

Festive In Death is NOT available on Kindle Unlimited (I wish!). This book is #39 of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. We get to see most of the characters during the Christmas party. I always enjoy the Christmas books as we get to see the Christmas presents. It is always cool to see what Eve chooses. I did have an inkling early as to who the killer was, but it was interesting to see how it all unfolded.
