Next week in my Facebook group, we’re talking Flirting with the Frenemy, which is the first book in the Pippa Grant reading order when you go by story timeline and not publication. This wasn’t the first I read of Pippa’s, but it was the second one. Want to know the reading order? Check it out here.
Wyatt Morgan- best friend to all members of the Bro Code. He grew up without a dad, but all the parents in the neighborhood claimed him. He pushed Ellie to strive her hardest by giving her a hard time all while growing up. Never thought he wanted to be a dad, but Tucker, his son, proved that false. Now he’s trying to score enough time with Tucker while being stationed in Georgia.
Ellie Ryder- little sister to Beck, member of the Bro Code. She grew up trailing behind everyone. Runner of marathons, who works at her parents’ company. Her boyfriend dumps her right before Christmas so she comes home because she doesn’t want to be alone.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Flirting with the Frenemy, Ellie and Wyatt end up having sex that night she goes to her parents’ house. Afterwards, Wyatt calls it a mistake, which throws Ellie for a loop. She races out of the house and ends up in a car accident. Fast forward six months and Ellie is in Shipwreck, Virginia. Her best friend Monica is having a pirate wedding with Ellie as the maid of honor. Of course Ellie’s ex is the groom’s brother and best man. Obviously, Ellie couldn’t come alone so she lines up Grady Rock, master baker as her fake boyfriend.
Yet, Ellie’s brother Beck has also lent his house to Wyatt and his son, so Tucker can enjoy the pirate festival. Beck might also have had another ulterior motive. He wants Wyatt to annoy his sister to get her back to normal. What will happen during the wedding week? Will Ellie attend with Grady or with Wyatt? Read the book to find out!
Recommendation?
As with each of Pippa Grant books, Flirting with the Frenemy should only be read while not drinking (because you will spit out your drink) and definitely not in a library as you will bust out laughing. Don’t get in trouble with the librarians! If you like a sitcom, but in book form, this is the perfect book for you. If you like little angst, high humor, this is the book for you. Trust me, all of us need a little light hearted fun right now and this delivers. This one is on Kindle Unlimited and you should run to read it!

And in case you hadn’t figured it out, my plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. Last year, I read 150 books. We’ll see how I do this year.
