Romance Variations

Forgotten Betrothal by L.M. Romano

I love Pride & Prejudice variations. Most have very similar tropes and couples. Forgotten Betrothal uses the familiar trope of Elizabeth not being a Bennet, but there’s an added twist or two.

A quote from Forgotten Betrothal by L.M. Romano

This variation starts after Elizabeth returns from Kent and Mr. Darcy’s disastrous proposal. Elizabeth walks through Hyde Park, rereading the letter that Mr. Darcy gave her in Kent. She drops a sheet and fortunately, a gentleman returns it to her. That gentleman is shocked when he views Elizabeth.

The gentleman is Lord Nicholas Grey. When he was eight, his nanny abducted his baby sister, Elizabeth. When he sees Elizabeth in Hyde Park, Nicholas notices how much she looks like the miniature of his mother. Nicholas investigates to find out more about Elizabeth after the meeting.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Forgotten Betrothal, Elizabeth’s world changes when she discovers that she is not a Bennet. But Mr. Darcy helps her through the transition, even while not knowing what exactly is going on with Elizabeth. He steadily shows his affection for her. But what happens when they discover that a betrothal contract was signed for her back when she was a baby?

Recommendation?

This one is on Kindle Unlimited. If you like variations where Elizabeth is not a Bennet, you really must read this one. It’s a great story. This is L.M. Romano’s only title so far, but I certainly hope to read more by this author.
