Romance Variations

Friends and Enemies by J. Dawn King

I love Pride & Prejudice variations. Most have very similar tropes and couples. While Friends and Enemies isn’t my favorite, it is definitely a unique variation that I haven’t read before.

This variation starts during the Netherfield Ball. Lydia discovers Mr. Darcy out on the balcony and proceeds to inform him of some home truths, like Elizabeth despising him. After the encounter where Lizzy comes out and drags Lydia back into the house by the ear, Mr. Darcy decides to leave Netherfield early the next morning.

When Darcy meets Colonel Fitzwilliam at a stop along the road to London, he decides to return to Meryton to reclaim his good name. Upon arrival, the colonel sees Wickham and draws his sword in front of the Bennet sisters. Not long after, Darcy receives an express that Georgiana is pregnant after Ramsgate.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Friends and Enemies, what will Darcy do now that Georgiana is pregnant? How will that situation work out? Read this and find out!
