I’m so not sure how I found Gingerbread & Jingle Bells, but I was looking for a quick, fast read, trying to read as many books in December as I could to meet my goal. This one definitely fit the bill of quick fast, read.
Evie Richards is the daughter of a single mom, who works in her mother’s bakery. Evie grows up in Masterson, Texas where it rarely snows. But it does on this one particular day in 1970 when Evie was on her way to school.
Daniel Shephard is English. His father is a visiting professor at Masterson University. While Daniel’s mother has already returned home to England, Daniel must finish fifth grade in his American school first. On this snow day, Daniel and Evie become friends. They both never forget the friend who they made in the snow.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Gingerbread & Jingle Bells, Eve returns home to Masterson to help her grandmother run the bakery after her mother has remarried. A cute young veterinarian recently started his practice with the town’s older veterinarian. The young one is none other than Daniel Shephard.
How will running into Daniel once more changed Eve’s life? or will it? Read it and find out!
This is a cute, short novella (it’s 94 pages). The story doesn’t get fleshed out as much as longer pieces, but everything is tied up all at the end. It is NOT on Kindle Unlimited.
