I have this idea for a subscription box. I’m working out the details, but it would include a cozy mystery and be built around it. So I’m reading lots of cozy mysteries. I asked my sister for a suggestion for a book that is the first book in a series that has a Halloween theme. She gave me Halloween Hayride Murder. I was looking to see if it would work for my box that I’m hoping to launch in September and ship in October.
Tessa is a widow who has moved home after her husband’s car accident. She lives with her parents and helps out at their B & B and motel.
Mandy, Tessa’s best friend, convinced Tessa to join the committee for the Halloween Hayride for her town. Tessa worked in marketing in the city when she lived there with her husband.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Halloween Hayride Murder, Tessa is out on a date with Clark, one of the high school teachers when they discover a body by the tractor that will pull the hayride. Max, another guy that Tessa is dating and has history with, reports to the scene as he’s a cop. Who killed Earl Stone? Why would they kill him? Want to learn about it all? Read the book.
While this is a good cozy mystery, there are some editing mistakes in it. It wasn’t quite what I wanted for my box, but this one is available on Kindle Unlimited. While I don’t recommend buying it, I do think you should borrow it and see if you like it.

I’m writing a blog post for every book I read. Yes, I read a lot. But I enjoy reading and want to help you find books to read that you would enjoy.
