After Fitzwilliam Darcy, Man of Fortune, I rolled right into His Perfect Gift, which is another Pride and Prejudice variation. But this one picks up where the Bingleys and Mr. Darcy had returned to town.

Colonel Fitzwilliam all but hijacks Mr. Darcy into traveling with him into Cheapside. Fitzwilliam simply must meet the wine and spirit supplier that the Colonel’s father has been using lately. Mr. Darcy has no desire to travel to Cheapside as it brings up memories of Miss Elizabeth Bennet, who he is doing his best to forget.

Who do they see as they travel but Miss Jane Bennet? Yet, Darcy has no idea that Elizabeth is also in London. After meeting the supplier, one Mr. Gardiner, it is not until they are almost done that Mr. Darcy hears a voice that he recognizes- Elizabeth.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In His Perfect Gift, Mr. Darcy discovers that his cousin knows Elizabeth. His uncle knows hers. After some contemplation, he decides to pursue her. It helps that his cousin and sister prod him along. Yet, Mr. Bingley and Miss Bingley have something to say about that. Read and find out what!
Recommendation?
His Perfect Gift presents a completely different Bingley than most variations that I’ve read. While I’ve read some with Caroline showing up like this version, generally Bingley is a good guy. This one, however, is not. This book, which is perfect for a Christmas read, is on Kindle Unlimited.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. Yes, I read a lot. But I enjoy reading and want to help you find books to read that you would enjoy.
