I’ve been slowly rereading the In Death series, intermingled with other books. This time Holiday in Death is up. This is Eve’s first Christmas with Roarke. But of course, a case comes up.

After learning about the series the first time back in 2001, I promptly read them all. At least, I read all of those books that had been released. But somewhere along the line, I stopped reading the current ones so I have needed to go back and read the series again. That’s why I’m re-reading these.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas is a New York City homicide detective in 2058. Holiday in Death starts with Eve dreaming in her sleep chair because Roarke is off planet. She wakes from the dream and goes into work early. On her way into Cop Central, Dispatch calls for help and she responds. Eve discovers a woman dead in her apartment.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Holiday in Death, someone dresses as Santa Claus, arrives at the door, and proceeds to murder the victim. They also declare the person their “true love” by painting a temp tattoo on the body. But how are they choosing their “true love”? Want to learn more? Read it and find out!
Recommendation?
This is the seventh of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. I haven’t read most of the newer books. J. D. Robb writes two a year. I need to catch up!

My plan for 2022 is to write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book, one about a mystery book, and one about a romance book (with some posts about series thrown in). This one is a mystery so if you’re a mystery lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
