After I read Glory in Death again, I continued the story with Immortal in Death, the third book in the series. This story never gets old. I had to see if Eve really would go through with the wedding since she accepted Roarke’s proposal.
After learning about the series the first time, I promptly read them all. At least, I read all of those books that were already released back in 2001. But somewhere along the line, I stopped reading the current ones so I need to go back and read the series again. That’s why I’m re-reading these.
Lieutenant Eve Dallas is a New York City homicide detective in 2058 (or thereabouts). This one starts with a shopping trip with Mavis (which actually scares Roarke a little) for Eve’s wedding dress. Eve ends up punching a first class model in the face, during Eve’s fitting.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Immortal in Death, Eve must figure out who killed Pandora. Plus, someone frames Mavis, but Eve knows that she couldn’t possibly have done it. Eve is now engaged to Roarke, much to her own confusion. She juggles wedding planning while trying to save Mavis. And one of Eve’s snitches shows up dead. What’s that all about? Want to learn more? Read it and find out!
This is the third of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. The newest book in this 53 book series- Forgotten in Death- released recently. That’s part of the reason I decided to start the series anew.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. I’m so far behind on my blog posts!
