My first book for 2021 is Jaxson by Alisa Woods. It’s also my first book by Alisa Woods. I was able to get the Kindle version for free here. Jaxson is the first book in a series of three (each with the name of the brothers) about the Riverwise Private Security firm.

Jaxson River is alpha of the Riverwise pack and the CEO of the Riverwise Private Security firm. He’s a man with a secret that he is keeping from his brothers and his pack. When Olivia first sees him, he’s being prodded with electrical cattle prods and wearing torn up clothes. Small wonder she thought he was homeless.

Olivia Lilyfield might be scraping by and just barely at that, but she still has morals that she won’t compromise. She knows more than she is saying about the supernatural world, to which Jaxson is oblivious. But there’s a spark between them.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
Olivia quits her job and as she’s leaving, runs into Jaxson (in wolf form) being tortured by two men. While she gets the men to leave Jaxson alone, he wasn’t too thrilled, especially as she recorded the whole thing on her phone. Yet, sparks fly between the two. What else happened? Well, read it and see!
Recommendation?
While this might have been my first Alisa Woods book, it won’t be my last. In fact, Jace is already on my Kindle and waiting for me. Have you set a reading goal for 2021?
