Mistral’s Kiss by Laurell K. Hamilton

Amazon had a triple points day with their Kindle Rewards Points beta and well, let’s just say I bought this whole dang series. After A Stroke of Midnight, I had to continue reading the series with Mistral’s Kiss (after I finished A Fire in the Flesh, obviously). Isn’t it required to continue?

A quote from Mistral's Kiss by Laurell K. Hamilton

Merry has dreams, which can seem prophetic. But with those dreams, also come relics, which restore powers to her guards that they lost long ago.

Merry’s aunt Queen Andais is still dealing with the fallout from the assassination attempts. Mistral, the Queen’s new captain of her guard, gets the opportunity to be with Merry just once so of course they have to make it good.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Mistral’s Kiss, Merry’s magic is continuing to change, and with hers, many of the others in her guard. King Sholto, who was in the first book, returns in this one and we learn what happened to him.

This book encompasses about two or three days. So it is a slow-moving story in terms of time, but yet, so much happens. I don’t think I could change anything, but we need to get Merry pregnant already because it still hasn’t happened!
