Mr. Darcy’s Phoenix by Lari Ann O’Dell

Mr. Darcy’s Phoenix is an amazing fantasy Pride & Prejudice variation by Lari Ann O’Dell. I had read Mr. Darcy’s Clan by her so I knew I needed to read this one. I mean, it has a phoenix in it so I had to!

Elizabeth Bennet is a mage that can do simple spells, but she has a secret. She has the gift of prophecy, which is a gift that most people hide for fear of being persecuted.

Fitzwilliam Darcy is a fire mage, who is bound to a phoenix, Dante. Working with fire requires great control, which Darcy has of course. Mr. Bingley is a nature mage, much like Jane.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Mr. Darcy’s Phoenix, how does our dear couple having magic change their story? Darcy gives his usual insult, but afterward his phoenix consoles Elizabeth. Does that make a difference in Darcy’s attitude? When Elizabeth foresees Darcy meeting up with Wickham and tells him about it, how will that change things?

Recommendation?

This is on Kindle Unlimited. It is such a well written story full of magic and adventure. There are several changes. The younger siblings of Elizabeth are all at a magical seminary so while they are seen once, they are not a major player in the storyline. This is a must read if you’re a fantasy fan and a fan of Pride & Prejudice variations.
