I’m not sure exactly how I found My Grumpy Billionaire, but I do think that I had read That Man Next Door already. So I knew that I liked Nadia Lee’s writing. I had to try this one when I heard what it was about.
Sierra Fullilove is the CEO of SIlicone Dreams, a sex toy company in California. It starts when Sierra is at the doctor’s office and discovers that she is pregnant. Sierra’s doctor told her that she couldn’t get pregnant because her fallopian tubes were blocked. Then it goes back ten weeks to when she got pregnant. Sierra celebrated getting her divorce by taking a trip to New Orleans.
Griffin Lasker is one of Ted Lasker’s (the Hollywood producer) sons. He is an economics professor at Wollstonecraft College (same college that Sierra’s ex-husband teaches at). He’s in New Orleans at the behest of his mother when he meets Sierra while masked at a masquerade ball.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In My Grumpy Billionaire, Sierra spends one night with Griffin without exchanging names. The condom breaks, but she assures him that she can’t get pregnant because she’s infertile. Oops. Yet, the two keep running into each other. First, at Griffin’s dad’s birthday party, they meet sort-of. Then he shows up at her company. What will happen?
I really liked this one. Griffin and Sierra are definitely a grumpy-sunshine relationship. While Sierra’s simply awful ex-husband and her remaining family, including her jerk of a dad, are out for everything they can get from her, it was nice to see Griff show her that someone can care about her.
