In 2001, I was working at the Disney Store in Raleigh, North Carolina. One of my fellow cast members was reading on her break. Being the nosy bookworm I am, I asked her what she was reading. She told me it was the newest In Death book. As soon as I got out of work, I went straight to the bookstore and bought the first one- Naked in Death.

My fellow cast member had told me that this series was by my favorite author, Nora Roberts. I just didn’t know that she was writing under a penname.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas is a New York City homicide detective in 2058 (or thereabouts). She’s called in to investigate a murder with an old-fashioned weapon. The victim was killed with a gun. There’s a gun ban in the US at this time.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Naked in Death, someone is killing prostitutes and it’s up to Eve to figure out who. Along the way, the reader meets a cast of characters, including the incredibly sexy and mysterious Roarke. Want to learn more? Read it and find out!
Recommendation?
This is the first of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. The newest book in this 53 book series- Forgotten in Death- released yesterday. That’s part of the reason I decided to start the series anew.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. I’m so far behind on my blog posts!
