Cozy Mystery

One Poison Pie by Lynn Cahoon

I have this idea for a subscription box. I’m working out the details, but it would include a cozy mystery and be built around it. So I read One Poison Pie to see if it would work for my box that I’m hoping to launch in September and ship in October.

Mia Malone moves to her grandmother’s quirky Idaho hometown. She purchases the old school to transition it to work for her catering business. Her ex-boyfriend’s sister also moves in with her. Mia’s grandmother convinces her best friend to hire Mia to cater for an event. While Mia appreciates the work, the best friend is very picky and high maintenance.

Trent Majors owns the local grocery store. When Mia’s client changes the menu, she runs to the store and meets Trent. Trent has some secrets of his own, but he’s most helpful to Mia.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In One Poison Pie, Mia travels to the site of the event she is to cater, only to discover that the client is dead. Who would want to kill her? Want to learn about it all? Read the book.

If you are a fan of cozy mysteries, then you should read this one. It’s very well written. This was the first book in the series, but there is a novella to start the series off. Because of the novella, it won’t work for my subscription box. But this one is available on Kindle Unlimited.
