Portrait of the Duke by Alexa Aston

I discovered that another of Alexa Aston’s series is available on Kindle Unlimited so I had to check it out. I borrowed Portrait of the Duke since it was the first of the series.

A quote from Portrait of the Duke by Alexa Aston

Lady Margaret Townsend wants to be a portrait artist. But she’s the daughter of an aristocrat and her mother and sister despise her. When Lady Margaret should have been making her come out, she was caring for her mother. Then she was caring for her father. It then falls to her sister and her sister’s husband to present Lady Margaret when she is 24.

A quote from Portrait of the Duke by Alexa Aston

Daniel Judson was a lowly viscount when he first called on Lady Margaret’s sister during her debut season. At that call, he first met Lady Margaret who was almost 15 (they share a birthday). When Lady Margaret told him that his title was too low for her sister, her honesty shocked Daniel.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In the book Portrait of the Duke, at the same time that Lady Margaret is making her come out, Daniel has become a duke and decided to find his duchess. He hopes to see Lady Margaret. But then Daniel decides to let his grandmother find his duchess for him. Who will she pick? Read and find out!

This one is on Kindle Unlimited. If you’re a fan of a strong independent woman who wants to do her own thing and he falls first trope, then you’re going to want to read this one! I highly recommend this one if you are a fan of historical romances. It is not very spicy, but does have one or two open-door scenes.
