After reading the Girl Band series, I need a quick, short read. I had found this Pride and Prejudice variation- Schemes of Felicity, either in an email or it was an Amazon recommendation. Either way, I was in the mood for a little Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.
Fitzwilliam Darcy returns to London after being refused by Elizabeth Bennet in Kent. He travels with his cousin, who will not stop talking. This, of course, is driving Mr. Darcy mad.
Elizabeth Bennet receives a letter from her father while still visiting in Kent. It seems Lydia has done something untoward, which prompted Mr. Bennet to declare both Lydia and Kitty as “not out”. He then determines that Jane and Elizabeth shall have a Season, well, a month at least in London.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
Schemes of Felicity comes about because Mr. Darcy’s Fitzwilliam relatives decide that it’s time to do a little matchmaking. Not knowing that he’s in love with Elizabeth already, they are determined to see him married.
Mr. Darcy is forced to go to balls and the theater. But it’s at the theater he discovers that Miss Elizabeth is in London. Has she had a change of heart after his letter? Read it and see!
Recommendation?
This was a pleasant read. It helped relax my brain and was a good variation. If you’re a fan of Pride and Prejudice, I think you will like this deviation. This one is available on Kindle Unlimited.

And in case you hadn’t figured it out, my plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. Last year, I read 150 books. We’ll see how I do this year.
