Secret Arrangement: Pride and Prejudice Variation by Deborah Ann Kauer

I have no idea how I found Secret Arrangement. It is a Pride and Prejudice Variation. It’s very different from any other than I have ever read before.

A quote from Secret Arrangement by Deborah Ann Kauer

Unlike Pride and Prejudice canon, George Wickham does not go after Georgiana Darcy in this one. Instead, he pursues Anne de Bourgh. This one starts with Anne and Wickham racing toward Gretna Green to be married. Of course, Lady Catherine demands that Darcy go after them and marry Anne himself.

Anne is found to be increasing, which leads Darcy to arrange a marriage for her, but not to him. However, once she delivers her daughter, Hope, she dies not long after. Yet, she determines that Darcy should be co-guardian of her daughter with her husband. Anne demands that Darcy find someone that he can love, not to make a business arrangement.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Secret Arrangement, Darcy has custody of Hope when he travels to Meryton and Netherfield. Miss Bingley shows her true colors when it comes to children. Hope brings out the worst in her, it seems. However, the same can not be said of Elizabeth Bennet. Darcy wants to court her, but Elizabeth fears what her mother will say so she asks for a secret arrangement.

Recommendation?

Secret Arrangement is a variation of Pride and Prejudice that if you’re a fan of our ODC, Elizabeth and Darcy- you should read. This is well worth the time to read. This one is on Kindle Unlimited.
