I discovered that I hadn’t read all of Pippa Grant’s books like I thought I had. You see, she first wrote under the penname Jamie Farrell. So I had to read all of those books, right? After Matched is Smittened, which is the third of the Misfit Brides books. BUT Smittened sort of happens concurrently with Matched, so definitely read Matched first, but know that Smittened’s ending is kind of in there too. This is a short book with only 103 pages, so a fast read.

Mikey Diamond is the drummer and best friend of Will Truitt aka Billy Brenton. Being on the road allows him to love the ladies and boy, do they use him to try to get to Billy. This causes Mikey to be cynical and untrusting.
Dahlia Mallard bounced around a lot from one relative to another. But finally she has found her destiny- running an ice cream shop in the wedding crazy town of Bliss. After she spent her money on a not so worthy cause (she’s a very giving person), she needs an influx of cash to keep her roof over her head and her shop open. That’s when she gets the brainstorm for a risque ice cream flavor tasting event. Who could promote it better than country music star Billy Brenton?
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Smittened, Dahlia tries to get Billy’s attention to help with her shop, but Mikey is the one who ends up as Dahlia’s new roommate due to circumstances. Will Billy be able to help Dahlia out with her shop? Will Mikey be her hero or revert back to his old ways of loving and leaving? Read the book to find out!
Recommendation?
As with each of Pippa Grant’s books (even though she’s writing as Jamie Farrell), Smittened should only be read while not drinking (because you will spit out your drink) and definitely not in a library as you will bust out laughing. Don’t get in trouble with the librarians! If you like a sitcom, but in book form, this is the perfect book for you. Trust me, all of us need a little light hearted fun right now and this delivers. This one is on Kindle Unlimited and you should run to read it!
