I’m honestly not sure how I found Southern Magic, but I borrowed it back in January. It combines two of my loves- fantasy and mystery.
Pepper Dunn just turned twenty-five. What does she get for her birthday? A bounced check for her rent money (thanks to her boyfriend not depositing her money like he said he would), being fired from her job at the restaurant (thanks to her co-worker lying about something that Pepper supposedly did), and a break up with her boyfriend (thanks to him being more concerned about fantasy football than her). But she also receives a package from an uncle she didn’t know she had.
Inside that package, Pepper discovers a key. A guy that she dreamed of shows up and wants to kidnap her. Pepper manages to get away and goes to Magnolia Cove with a little help from a talking cat.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Southern Magic, Pepper discovers a family that she never knew, along with the fact that she’s a witch. What kind of witch is she? Who killed Ebenezer?
This cozy mystery series (of which there are 26 books! well #26 is coming out this month) is available on Kindle Unlimited. It took me a little while to get into the book, but once I was in, boy I couldn’t stop reading. Lots of Southernisms are in this one.

In case you hadn’t figured it out quite yet, I write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book (published on Thursdays), one about a mystery book (published on Saturdays), and one about a romance book (published on Mondays). This one is a mystery so if you’re a mystery lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
