Stranded at Pemberley by Jenetta James

I kept right on with my Pride & Prejudice binge read with Stranded at Pemberley. I don’t think I’ve read Jenetta James before, but I thought this would be a good quick read as it’s only 79 pages.

This story starts before Mr. Darcy and Mr. Bingley show up in Hertfordshire. Elizabeth travels with her aunt and uncle Gardiner and their two daughters. They are on the way home from Lambton when their carriage wheel breaks.

The carriage wheel breaks about a mile from Pemberley. Aunt Gardiner is injured in the crash, but she’s the only one to be injured. Elizabeth runs to Pemberley for help. Mr Darcy, of course, provides the help needed. The Gardiners, along with Elizabeth, take shelter at Mr. Darcy’s home.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Stranded at Pemberley, Mrs. Gardiner is hurt most grievously. As a result, she must stay at Pemberley in order to convalesce. This leads Darcy and Elizabeth to get to know each other in a way completely different to how they do in canon. Read to find out exactly how that is.

Recommendation?

Stranded at Pemberley is a low angst, quick read. It’s perfect for those who just want a quick variation of the original Pride & Prejudice. This takes place just before Christmas and through Christmas to Twelfth Night. This is on Kindle Unlimited.

My plan for 2021 was to write a blog post for each book I read. This is the twenty-second book of December. Just eighteen more- over halfway doneā€¦
