When I was rereading the Elementals series by Michelle Madow, I discovered The Discovery of Magic had been published as a sequel. I was excited to dive into this world once more.
Summer Donovan is a scholarship college student in Florida. She tutors as well as working in a coffee shop so she can go to school. But when she and her roommate Lara see the northern lights all the way in Florida, Summer thinks something weird is up. After all, she felt something.
After Summer fends off an attack by a sorority girl, Nicole and Blake (from the Elementals series) show up. Summer has elemental magic or so they think. Now Nicole and Blake want to take her to the Elementals Academy.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In The Discovery of Magic, witches received elemental magic, not long after the Elementals series finished. Thus, all of the witches needed somewhere to learn how to control theirs. Kate (from the Elementals) is the headmistress. Summer tries to fit in, but it’s hard when she can’t control her magic. Plus, there’s this hot guy, Zane. (Isn’t there always?) What happens? Read it and see.
Recommendation?
This book is on Kindle Unlimited. If you like mythology and magic intertwined, you will love this one. This is the first of a series called Elementals Academy. The series revolves around Summer.
