Max Cole- teammate of Brooks Elliott from Jock Blocked and Luca Rossi from Real Fake Love. He’s a professional baseball player, who plays pitcher. Max has been with the Fireballs for four years. One of his best friends is Cooper Rock, which is why he won’t even think about touching Tillie Jean.
Tillie Jean Rock is Cooper Rock’s little sister, but she isn’t little. Plus, she loves to flirt with Max, just to annoy Cooper. TJ lives in Shipwreck, but travels to Copper Valley often to visit with the Lady Fireballs. She and Cooper have massive prank wars against each other during the off season.

In The Grumpy Player Next Door, Max moves into the house next door to Tillie Jean for the off season after the Fireballs’ epic run to the playoffs. What will the off season be like for Max and Tillie Jean?
The pranks between TJ and Cooper are epic, but the sparks that fly between Tillie Jean and Max are just sizzling. I loved how some old characters made reappearances in this one, like Sloane from Flirting with the Frenemy. Want to know what all happens? Read the book to find out! I mean you have to read just to see what Long Beak Silver is up to.
Recommendation?
As with each of Pippa Grant’s books, The Grumpy Player Next Door should only be read while not drinking (because you will spit out your drink) and definitely not in a library as you will bust out laughing. Don’t get in trouble with the librarians! If you like a sitcom, but in book form, this is the perfect book for you. If you like high humor, this is the book for you. Trust me, all of us need a little light hearted fun right now and this delivers. This one is on Kindle Unlimited and you should run to read it!
