The Highlander by Kerrigan Byrne

After Christopher and Millie’s story, I had to keep reading. Just like before, The Highlander tells the story of a character we’ve met before- Lady Mena St. Vincent, Viscount Benchley. She was instrumental in finding out who was behind the contract on Millie’s life in the last book.

The High Court of the Queen declares Mena to be insane so Mena’s husband has her locked up in Belle Glen Asylum. Fortunately for her, Dorian Blackwell and Christopher Argent don’t forget when they owe you a debt. The doctor and the orderly were set to rape her when Blackwell, Argent, and Chief Inspector Morley arrived to rescue her.

Colonel Liam MacKenzie is known as the Demon Highlander. He is Laird to the MacKenzie clan. And yes, he’s half-brother to Dougan MacKenzie. Liam is a widower with two children in need of a governess.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In the book The Highlander, Farah Blackwell, Liam’s sister-in-law sends Mena to the Highlands and her brother-in-law to serve as governess to her niece and nephew. After all, if her niece is going to be taught how to behave in London society, then who better to teach her than a Viscountess? But Mena goes there as Miss Mena Lockhart. How will Liam respond when he discovers that she’s not who she says she is? What happens? Read this one to find out!

Recommendation?

This one is not on Kindle Unlimited, but it’s well worth the price. A fabulous story with a twist toward the end that you might not see coming. There are sexy scenes in this one.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. Last year, I read 150 books. We’ll see how I do this year.
