The Mixtape by Brittainy Cherry

My friend Cari has recommended that I read The Mixtape so I borrowed it from Kindle Unlimited. I finally decided to read it. I am so glad that I did.

Oliver Smith is half of the famous music duo Alex & Oliver. Alex and Oliver are twins until the night that they are in a car crash. Alex dies and leaves Oliver to fend for himself. Oliver is the quiet introvert while Alex had been the outgoing extrovert.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In The Mixtape, Emery, who is a HUGE fan of Alex & Oliver, meets Oliver when he comes into the bar she works at, instead of singing at his concert that he should be at. Due to Oliver’s getting in a bar fight and Emery shutting down the bar to get Oliver out of there, she loses her job. What happens from there? Read it and see!

The Mixtape is on Kindle Unlimited. I definitely recommend reading it. The only reason that I didn’t give this one a full five stars is that there are a few loose ends that are mentioned in the story that aren’t tied off by the end. I don’t like it when authors put extraneous things in their writings. There needs to be a purpose behind adding scenes. But the story overall is a very good one.

My plan for 2021 is to write a blog post for each book I read. Yes, I read a lot. But I enjoy reading and want to help you find books to read that you would enjoy.
