The Name of the Game by Nora Roberts

I think this oldie by Nora Roberts popped up as a deal on Book Gorilla. The Name of the Game is one of my favorite of her Silhouette books. This was a Silhouette Intimate Moments if I’m remembering correctly (and yes, I do own it in both paperback and Kindle version!).

Johanna Patterson is the executive producer of a trivia game show. Her father has a production company, so she’s determined to show that she earns all of her work and that she didn’t get it just by being his daughter. This leads Johanna to working all kinds of hours.

Sam Weaver is an actor who has just filmed a TV movie because they couldn’t fit everything from the book into a two hour movie. As a result, the TV executives wanted him to appear on Johanna’s trivia show. He has no choice, but when he meets Johanna, he doesn’t want one anyway.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In The Name of the Game, Johanna does not want to give Sam the time of day because he’s an actor. She grew up in Hollywood and hates the fakeness of the town. Sam is determined to make her his. Who will win this battle of the wills?

The Name of the Game is available on Kindle and even though it is an older book, it holds up fairly well. There is some outdated technology, but it’s a great way to see how people lived back then.

My plan for 2022 is to write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book, one about a mystery book, and one about a romance book (with some posts about series thrown in). This one is a romance so if you’re a romance lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
