Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic by Meghan Ciana Doidge

With the revelation at the end of the last book, I immediately jumped into Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic. I mean, Jade is half dragon??? What?

In the last book, Jade Godfrey discovers her dad. I mean, she comes face to face with him. Admittedly, she fights a demon and that leads to him, but still! Her dad is a dragon. While I don’t think dragon means what we normally think of when we hear dragon, still!

Sienna kidnaps Mory, Rusty’s little sister, all because she wants Mory’s necromancer powers. Jade worries about Mory, but believes that she is still alive. At the beginning, Jade trains in the other realm- the one of dragons. She has been there for over three months.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic, Jade returns to find the sorcerer Blackwell, who worked with Sienna. She hopes that he’ll be able to help her find Sienna. Jade knows that it’s her responsibility to take care of Sienna. Although Jade hoped to go it alone, Kandy, Kett, and Drake come along for the ride. Want to know who Drake is? What about Desmond and Jade’s chemistry together? Will the life debts be paid? Just read it and see!

Recommendation?

I love stories like this. Magic and dragons has always captured my imagination and this one definitely does. Treasures, Demons, and Other Black Magic is an excellent addition to the series. While there are more books in the series, I am going to stop here as it seems a good breaking point.
