Once I read One Dance with a Duke, I had to continue reading the Stud Club trilogy with Twice Tempted by a Rogue. This one tells the story of Rhys St. Maur, who we met in One Dance with a Duke.
Meredith Lane Maddox is a widow. She owns the inn The Three Hounds in Buckleigh-in-the-Moor. She grew up at Nethermoor Hall as her father was in charge of the stables.
Rhys St. Maur, Lord Ashworth, returns to Buckleigh-in-the-Moor after inheriting the title and the land that Nethermoor Hall stood on. He stays at the inn that Merry owns. Rhys does not recognize her at first, but soon discovers that it is Merry Lane.
Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In Twice Tempted by a Rogue, Rhys had a death wish. He wanted to die, but yet, even though he fought in the war, Rhys could not die. So when he returns to his ancestral home, even though the villagers come after him with torches, he is not afraid. But who will win out- Rhys or the villagers who seem determined to drive him away?
Recommendation?
This is NOT on Kindle Unlimited. It’s the second of a series. There are three men in the Stud Club. One more book is in the series. These are steamy! So don’t expect them to be a clean romance. The best part of this one is that he falls first. Well, maybe not first as Merry had a crush on him while growing up, but he stakes his claim first.
