Vengeance in Death by J.D. Robb

I’ve been slowly rereading the In Death series. This time Vengeance in Death is up. I love this one as we learn more about Roarke and his past in this one.

After learning about the series the first time back in 2001, I promptly read them all. At least, I read all of those books that had been released. But somewhere along the line, I stopped reading the current ones so I have needed to go back and read the series again. That’s why I’m re-reading these.

Lieutenant Eve Dallas is a New York City homicide detective in 2058. Vengeance in Death starts with Eve interviewing a suspect and closing the case quickly. Dallas hoped that she could get home on time when she receives a call swimming in colors with a riddle. The caller said she is supposed to be the best so he was going to test her. Could she solve the riddle?

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)

In Vengeance in Death, someone kills people connected to Roarke. Eve learns more about Roarke’s past and Summerset, probably more than she wants to know about Summerset. Is Roarke a target? Will Eve be able to stop the killer before it hits any closer to Roarke? Want to learn more? Read it and find out!

This is the sixth of J.D. Robb’s In Death series. I haven’t read most of the newer books. J. D. Robb writes two a year. I need to catch up!

My plan for 2022 is to write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book, one about a mystery book, and one about a romance book (with some posts about series thrown in). This one is a mystery so if you’re a mystery lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
