I think I found When We Believed in Mermaids during the Epic Summer Challenge on Kindle. If I remember correctly, this fit one of the category of the mystery reveals. My friend Cari had recommended that I read it.

Kit Bianci lost her sister fifteen years ago during a terrorist attack on a train. So when Kit sees her sister’s face on the TV news in the break room, she immediately makes arrangements to travel to New Zealand where the fire was in the news spot.

Josie Bianci is living life under a different name, Mari. She has a husband and children, who have no idea who she really is.

Brief Summary (while trying not to give everything away)
In When We Believed in Mermaids, the story takes us between Kit and Mari’s point of view. It also weaves between present day and their memories. While this normally bugs me, this was very well-written. So what did happen? Why did Josie fake her death?
Recommendation?
When We Believed in Mermaids is available on Kindle Unlimited. It is well worth reading, especially if you like when family reconnects. There are multiple mysteries (several things happened that have to be uncovered) as well as some romance involved. Plus, with the setting of New Zealand, it made me want to visit there!

My plan for 2022 is to write three blog posts a week- one about a fantasy book, one about a mystery book, and one about a romance book (with some posts about series thrown in). This one is a mystery so if you’re a mystery lover, then you’ll want to check it out!
